Cecilia Paolini

Cecilia Paolini specialized in the History of Medieval and Modern Art at the „Sapienza“ University of Rome, where she earned her PhD. Her interests involve both modern Flemish painting, for which she has published the monograph Rubens e gli arciduchi delle Fiandre Meridionali (Ginevra Bentivoglio 2018), and contemporary art, dealing in particular with sculpture in the publication Le opere di Venanzo Crocetti a Roma. She has collaborated with the Hallie Ford Museum of the Willamette University of Salem (Oregon-USA) with a research project sponsored by the Center for Ancient Studies and Archaelogy (CASA). She was a member of the scientific committee of the exhibition Rubens e la Nascita del Barocco (Milan 2016-2017) and Rubens and the birth of the Baroque (Tokyo 2018-2019). For the Italian Ministry of the National Affair, he curated the collective exhibitions of contemporary art L’Aquila non si muove (Rome, Palazzo Ferdinando di Savoia, 2009) and Sfide e Speranze (Rome, Palazzo Ferdinando di Savoia – Turin, Palazzo della Regione Piemonte, 2010). For the Grande Napoli Arte exhibition (Naples, Castel Nuovo, 2012) she was the curator of the section of 19th and 20th century paintings. In 2019, she edited the catalog of Goya’s etchings taken from The Disasters of War series and Claudio Bonichi’s works, both from the Alfredo Paglione collection exhibited on permanent loan at the „Gabriele d ‚Annunzio“ University Museum in Chieti.
